With our progressive and holistic early childhood education philosophy, we understand that each child has unique needs and interests. We provide the environment and tools your child needs to thrive to the best of their abilities, whether they are in preschool, day care, or one of our other programs.
When we expose children to different environments and various learning experiences in our Montessori School, we allow them to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them. Once they leave Dragonfly Discovery Children's Centre, they’re fully prepared for the next stage of their young lives.
The educational programs at Dragonfly Discovery Children's Centre were created with our children’s needs in mind: to mature and develop in a safe yet stimulating environment. Take a look below to learn more about each program.
Our Educational Programs
All programs have a combination of indoor and outdoor activities, fine motor, gross motor, group and individual, quiet and louder activities. All of our programs focus on helping the child develop their cognitive, social, emotional, creative, and physical skills. The all day program typically follows a schedule of Indoor Fine Motor Activities, Story and Group Activity, Snack, Outdoor Time (or Gym), Lunch Time, Nap if needed, Activity Centres (if not napping), Afternoon Snack, Story Time, Outdoor Time or Gym, and Activity Centres.
Infant/Toddler - birth to 30 months (waitlist)
All day Early Learning Program - 2.5 to 5 years
Licensed Group Child Care - 5 to 12 years
We have a garden plot on-site where we plant, care for, harvest, and eat fresh veggies.
Many activities are set up to encourage fine motor control and creative expression.
The large second room acts as a gym for gross motor skills and dramatic play.
