Our Educational Programs
All programs have a combination of indoor and outdoor activities, fine motor, gross motor, group and individual, quiet and louder activities. All of our programs focus on helping the child develop their cognitive, social, emotional, creative, and physical skills.
The all day program typically follows a schedule of Indoor Fine Motor Activities, Story and Group Activity, Snack, Outdoor Time (or Gym), Lunch Time, Nap if needed, Activity Centres (if not napping), Afternoon Snack, Story Time, Outdoor Time or Gym, and Activity Centres.
The facility is a bright character building in downtown Invermere, with old growth trees and close to the beach and playgrounds.
The children can enjoy multiple garden plots and potted plants, on-site that offer interactive opportunities to plant, care for, harvest, and eat fresh fruits and veggies.
Many activities are set up to encourage fine motor control and creative expression.
The large outdoor yard has a pump track, swings, sand boxes, play houses
and other interactive play equipment.
An indoor gym offers opportunities for gross motor skills and dramatic play, with bikes, costumes, musical instruments.
Our yard offers summer outdoor water play and stimulating outdoor winter play. We also enjoy regular out-trips to nearby parks, beaches and sledding hills.
Invermere on the Lake
Dragonfly Discovery Children's Centre is walking distance away from Lake Windermere at Kinsmen Beach. Our older groups enjoy walking field trips to this stunning location.
